BILLONGOLOLAH & BEYOND - SYDNEY HARBOUR
In this episode we visit and discover who has lived on Fort Denison, the tiny Harbour sentinel and former convict prison.
Among the many Sydney Harbour islands is Clarke Island, we see and feel the colour of the night and the glow of the campfire as we participate in an Aboriginal Coroboree. We meet a local aboriginal elder who tells the story of the Dream Time and the history of the islands.
Up the northern coastline, we visit the Dorrigo Rainforest, the source of the nutrients which supply the waters around the Solitary Islands near Coffs Harbour, the largest marine park in NSW.
Venturing south, we visit Jervis Bay and Montague Island where we witness the environmental studies into the local fairy penguin population. We witness the nightly penguin parade and visit the all male Seal colonies, above and below the water, that pepper the islands coastline.
